Ant’s Nest Safari Experience – 7 Nights of Wild Luxury in South Africa
Dates: September 17-24 2026
Whether you're a seasoned equestrian or someone who'd rather sip a sundowner than saddle up, a 7-night stay at Ant’s Nest in South Africa’s gorgeous, wildlife filled and malaria-free Waterberg region delivers an unforgettable safari experience tailored to your pace, preferences, and sense of adventure.
At this award-winning, family-run lodge, your days begin with birdsong and coffee overlooking the bush—and end with gourmet meals under the stars. In between, choose your thrill:
Ride out across open plains alongside giraffe, zebra, rhino, buffalo and eland with expert guides and well-trained horses (no nose-to-tail plods here). Rides are offered twice daily, but are fully optional. They are also fully customized to your riding ability, with slow beginner rides and fast advanced rides offered. Or, skip the group ride and opt for a riding lesson instead!
Climb aboard a Big Five game drive and track lions, elephants, rhinos, and leopards in the neighboring reserve.
Guided bush walks offer a deeper connection to the landscape, where every track, dung pile, and birdcall has a story.
After dark, night drives unveil the bush’s secret nightlife—spot aardvarks, bush babies, or even a hunting cat under the beam of a spotlight.
A luxurious 90 minute massage, included in your rate, to be enjoyed at your convenience. Perfect for working out the kinks from hours in the saddle (or sitting in an overland safari vehicle!)
Ant’s Nest combines rustic elegance with creature comforts: think thatched roofs, spacious verandas, deep bathtubs, and sweeping views. Meals are a highlight, blending fresh local flavors with fine wine and that cozy, communal safari vibe where stories are shared and friendships are forged.
This is the rare safari where friends with different interests—riders and non-riders alike—can each have their perfect day, every day.
This is an all-inclusive safari experience. From the moment you are picked up at the Johannesburg Airport, to the moment you return back to the airport, everything is covered. All meals, drinks, horse back riding, a 90 minute massage, airport transfers, a Big 5 Game Drive, bush walks, and even riding lessons if you want them!
Come for the horses, the game drives, the warm hospitality—stay for the magic that happens when you unplug, look around, and remember how wild the world can be.
