I’m Nikki, and for the past decade, I’ve been organizing hikes, international trekking expeditions, camping trips, and backcountry adventures. It started informally—just women who wanted to get outside more—and over time, it became clear that it was about something deeper: a need for nature, a need for connection, and a need for spaces where we could show up exactly as we are, move our bodies, get dirty, and still end the day with a glass of wine and a good laugh.

Growing up, I was the kid obsessed with adventure. I used to pore over the glossy Outward Bound catalogs that arrived in the mail, dreaming of paddling beside whales and climbing high alpine ridges. But we didn’t have that kind of money. My single mom worked hard, and those trips stayed firmly in the dream category.

Years later, I started looking at trips offered by the big adventure travel companies and was floored by the prices. So I started planning my own. Instead of relying on the standard large-group model, I handpick small, chic accommodations that the bigger companies typically can’t book—the kinds of special places that bring far more charm, personality, and intimacy to the experience. Then I invited a circle of close friends and hiking companions, handpicked for good vibes, fun, and camaraderie, and before long, Adventuristas was born.
